About the Authors:
Dr Frederick Toates DPhil, DSc is Reader in Psychobiology at the Open University and has previously lectured at the University of Central Lancashire and Odense University, Denmark. He is a long-time suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder. His current research interests include the motivation and control of behaviour. He is the author of the textbook Biological Psychology: An Integrative Approach.

Dr Olga Coschug-Toates PhD is married to Frederick Toates. A physicist by training, she works as a medical translator and interpreter.
